Claremont Parks & Recreation is proud to partner with the Claremont Conservation Commission and UNH Cooperative Extension to offer a hands-on Tree Identification Walk for community members of all ages.
Join UNH Sullivan County Extension Forester Dode Gladders for an engaging outdoor workshop focused on identifying common forest trees using leaves and bark. Participants will also be introduced to helpful field guides and smartphone apps that make tree identification easy and enjoyable long after the walk is over.
The group will meet in the parking lot on Maple Avenue, located approximately 0.8 miles west of Route 11. This program includes an easy, guided walk lasting about two hours. Participants are encouraged to dress for the outdoors and bring bug spray, water, and any snacks they may need.
This event is free and open to the public, however registration is required. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be rescheduled to Sunday, June 14 at 10:00 AM.
Come explore Claremont’s natural beauty while learning valuable skills to better understand the trees around you.
